App Description

I had a bad habit of getting a gift card, throwing it in a junk drawer, and totally forgetting about it.

I finally cleaned it out the other day and realized I had 8 gift cards with more than $300…just sitting there, wasting away. Two of them had expired. 🤦‍♂️

So I built Gift Card Guard with a friend as a simple tracking and reminder tool:

Now, any time I get a gift card, I immediately throw it in the app so it’s backed up and stays on my radar.

Key features include:
– simple upload process (just add photo)
– card details extracted (no need to type)
– initial balance check upon upload
– encrypted storage
– monthly reminder email

There are a few apps that do similar things, but they each had some limitations that frustrated me. Hoping this is the easiest, most flexible solution!
